By Car
Middleton by Wirksworth is just north of the town of Wirksworth and close to Cromford. It is near the tourist towns of Matlock, Bakewell , Buxton and Ashbourne. The main trunk road in the area is the A6 which interlinks Derby, Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton. It is best to leave the A6 at Cromford and take the B5036 towards Wirksworth. At the top of Cromford Hill take the B5035 towards Ashbourne and then take the right turn at the 'Rising Sun' crossroads. This takes you onto the main street of Middleton village. Continue up the main street past the mine entrance, the school and church and some 150m further on you will see grey railings on the left hand side. You can park on the drive to my house( no 14 ) behind these railings. The Barn is at the entrance to the drive and you can pick up the keys from the house.
By Bus
Trent service 6.1 ( Bakewell ↔ Derby ) runs through Middleton during the main part of the day on Mondays to Saturdays. This service provides a direct link to Belper and Derby, but journeys from Derby need a change at Wirksworth to arrive back at Middleton. Journeys to Bakewell need a change at Matlock. Cromford is the closest bus stop for the Transpeak service (Derby ↔ Manchester) . Details of these services can be found on www.trentbarton.co.uk

The closest station to Middleton is Cromford. The Derby ↔ Matlock service calls at this station daily.
